Thank you for taking the time to check out my site. If you've arrived at this section, you must be looking to learn more about me personally. I'm a thoroughly West coast native, having spent my life in California, Colorado, Arizona, and currently Seattle, Washington.
After almost comical indecision about pursuing exciting and challenging 'left brain' subjects vs my love of creative 'right brain' activities, I settled into the marketing program in the W.P. Carey School of Business at Arizona State University. Ever an overachiever, I was also accepted into Barrett, the Honors College, which, besides providing me with some of the best classes I ever took, and acquainting me with fantastic professors, ultimately lead to me spending a whole lot of time devoted to the subject of branding. My honors thesis (on branding) was highly received, and sparked an interest and seeded a body of knowledge I knew I would carry far beyond the university walls.
Once I graduated I journeyed to Seattle for a reprieve from the desert heat, and to re-evaluate my post-grad strategy. The creativity thing was still really nagging me. During this time I worked for Sheraton Seattle of Starwood Hotels, a very interesting brand experience, and XBOX Video at the Microsoft campus in Redmond. These two companies gave me huge insights into corporate branding, and the importance branding and business strategy aligning.
I could hardly help myself over the years, I would overtly pursue and inquire after people's freelance or side businesses to talk branding. Anyone I met who was beginning to navigate the business world as a start-up was someone I was eager to talk with, consult, and educate, if needed. After spending time working in the corporate world, and among small and personal businesses, I realized I had a tremendous affinity for digging in and 'getting my hands dirty' with small businesses. And that's how this venture came to be.
As for the aforementioned creative stuff, I still haven't been able to give any of that up. When possible and appropriate I am always eager to include creative services in my marketing and branding work, but I also independently pursue passion projects of design, film, photography, and music. On the weekends you will most likely find me doing one of these things, or exercising, or hanging out on the lake wakeboarding. I like those things too. My most recent project is to produce a unique timelapse everyday for 100 days, which you can check out here.
